It's a funny way to express your vehemence towards opposing supporters. On Friday April 14, during a match between Standard de Liège and Charleroi Sporting Club, people posing as supporters of Charleroi threw dead rats in the direction of the stands occupied by those of Liège.
A total of twelve rats painted red (the colors of the local club) were thrown. Information confirmed by the club which could bring the matter before the authorities of the Pro League.
"We hope that the Pro League will act, that our club will file a complaint and that the animal associations will get involved," supporters said on Facebook, while Charleroi fans also held up a banner saying "rat extermination to the local audience.
"Spectators hooded and dressed in pest control outfits threw these rats in the direction of T2, a grandstand occupied by families and people with reduced mobility", said, "disgusted", a Standard supporter on RTL-TV. tv.
The derby between the two Walloon Pro League clubs is often the setting for incidents, sometimes violent. This is the first time, however, that an episode of this type has occurred. The match was won (3-1) by Standard.
