Knicks cutting Brandon Jennings to make room for youngster

The Knicks have made their big February move.

The Vertical reported on Monday morning that the team is releasing veteran point guard Brandon Jennings, and are planning to sign Chasson Randle.

Philadelphia released Randle to make room on the roster following their deal that sent Nerlens Noel to the Mavericks at the deadline. Randle’s rights then went back to the Knicks’ D-League team.

Jennings had an up-and-down season as Derrick Rose’s backup after signing a one-year, $5 million deal this offseason.
