Report on an escalated dispute: Lehmann climbs onto the roof of a neighbor with a chainsaw

Jens Lehmann seems to feel at home at Lake Starnberg, having lived there for around 15 years. However, the former goalkeeper seems to be at odds with the neighborhood. According to one report, so much so that Lehmann set off with the chainsaw on his own.

Describing Jens Lehmann as a combative contemporary is probably not an understatement. Out of anger at his early substitution at FC Schalke 04, he once took the S-Bahn home during the game, at VfB Stuttgart he pulled the glasses off a fan's nose during an argument, and last year he insulted the former German international Dennis Aogo racist and flies from the supervisory board despite a public request for an apology at Hertha BSC. But what the "Bild" reports now sounds like a new level of escalation.

Accordingly, Lehmann is so dissatisfied with a construction project by his neighbor on Lake Starnberg that he resorts to drastic measures and triggers a police operation. Because the neighbor's new garage is supposed to block his cherished view of the water, the 52-year-old grabs the chainsaw and climbs onto the roof of the shell, according to "Bild". Some roof beams were destroyed, it is said - and apparently the 61-time German player is trying to cover his tracks.

The tabloid writes that Lehmann is said to have previously severed the cable from the surveillance camera. Presumably in the hope of stopping their recording and being able to remain undetected. However, according to "Bild", the camera continues to run, with battery, and therefore sends the garage owner quite clear pictures. Lehmann should be seen on it, who is walking around the property with the saw and is becoming active. In view of this worrying sight, the neighbor then called the police, who then stood in front of Lehmann's door and started the investigation.

As the "Bild" continues to write, Lehmann and his neighbor in the posh residential area southwest of Munich have been at odds for a long time. The former goalkeeper, who in his career was active not only with the Bundesliga clubs Schalke, Dortmund and Stuttgart but also with FC Arsenal in England and even briefly with AC Milan, has lived near the shore for around 15 years and once flew regularly from there by helicopter to training VfB. In his eyes, the garage should be too big and protrude about one and a half meters onto his own property.

The newspaper also describes it as "explosive" that, according to the police, a total of three other types of property damage have occurred "at the same garage" in the past two years, the damage of which is said to have amounted to more than 10,000 euros. Lehmann, meanwhile, reported his neighbors for damage to property and coercion, according to "Bild". All in all, this sounds like a relationship that will continue to concern investigative authorities and courts in the future.
