Tiger Woods 'knows he can't beat anybody' according to fellow pro Pat Perez

Pat Perez, a PGA Tour veteran with two tour wins, is well-known for speaking his mind, and on Tuesday, he didn't hesitate when Tigers Woods came up as a topic on his radio show.

Perez, speaking on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio said:

"He knows he can't beat anybody. He's got this new corporation he started so he has to keep his name relevant to keep the corporation going.

"But the bottom line is he knows he can't beat anybody. He knows it. He shot 77! That guy can't shoot 77. What does he do the next day? 'Aw my back's gone.' He knows he can't beat anybody!"

But by Thursday, Perez went on to clarify his remarks, telling ESPN.com, "It's our radio show. We're just two guys talking about the stuff we always talk about. I had an opinion on Tiger, and I said it. No one wants to see Tiger come back, compete, and win again more than me."

Perez and Woods go way back. They are friends, according to reports, and grew up playing junior golf against one another in Southern California.

Woods has been battling back spasms that caused him Betkanyon to pull out of the Genesis Open and the Honda Classic. He's expected to miss a month, but has not set a date for his return. The 2017 Masters in Augusta begins in six weeks.
