iOS 16.0.2 is now available for download. Among other things, Apple fixes severe camera problems in the new iPhone 14 Pro models, but also eliminates errors that affect all devices with iOS 16. One of them can be very annoying.
As promised, Apple is delivering a quick software update, primarily to eliminate the violent shaking attacks that the 48-megapixel main camera of the new iPhone 14 Pro models occasionally has with third-party apps such as TikTok, Snapchat or Instagram. However, the update is also of interest to other users as it fixes some annoying bugs that affect all iPhones running iOS 16. According to Apple, the new firmware also contains "important security updates", but the company does not provide any further information.
A particularly annoying bug that should be history after the update concerns an actually very useful new feature that iPhones with iOS 16 have received. The point here is that permission is first asked before an application is allowed to access content from the clipboard. Normally this should only happen the first time, but it can happen that the system asks again and again.
The update also fixes a software bug for all iOS 16 devices that can cause the display to go completely black during device configuration. After the update, it should also no longer happen that the VoiceOver function is sometimes no longer available after a restart. Another fix frees owners of an iPhone X, iPhone XR or iPhone 11 from the problem that their device may no longer respond to inputs after the service.
To install the update to iOS 16.0.2, go to the settings (gear icon), then select Software update and tap Load and install. After entering the access code and confirming the general terms and conditions, the update starts.
