An Amber Alert has been issued for a 1-year-old Leonnel Barajas, who was kidnapped in Yakima Monday.
Yakima Police believe 23-year-old Manuel Mendoza, the boy's uncle, broke down the back door of the boy's apartment in the 800 block of Central Ave., pointed a gun at the child's father and took the child. Police believe the man was with 24-year-old Jessica Mendoza. Police haven't given any additional details about the kidnapping.
They are believed to be in a silver 2000 Chevrolet Impala with black rims and no hubcaps. Police do not know the license plate, only that it was issued in Washington. They are believed to still be in the Yakima area.
Manuel Mendoza is described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 10 inches tall weighing 155 pounds. He was a tattoo on his right forearm that says "waste" and on his left forearm that reads "land."
Jessica Mendoza is also described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 4 inches tall weighing 130 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes.
Leonnel is white with blonde hair and green eyes, last seen wearing a maroon shirt with gray sleeves and red and blue checkered pants.
If you see any of the three or know where they are, you're asked to call 911.
