Crews shut down both directions of I-5, with traffic shut off northbound approaching the Spokane Street exit and southbound closed near the James Street off-ramp, according to WSDOT.

The incident occurred in the southbound collector-distributor lanes of I-5, according to the state Department of Transportation. A tanker truck hauling butane rolled over beneath the westbound ramp to I-90, reports say. The Seattle Fire Department says the driver suffered minor injuries and three patients were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Express lanes are also shut off.

The crash also shut down westbound I-90 lanes at Rainier Avenue, the agency reported. Eastbound traffic is closed at the stadiums.

WSDOT says the Seattle Fire Department asked authorities to shut down the roads for the response. Hazmat crews are investigating the scene.

The State Patrol asks drivers to avoid the area.

WSDOT says this is a "long-term situation with no known reopening time." The fire department reports the closure will persist for at least a couple hours.

Westbound I-90 is also closed at the summit near mile post 52 for an overturned logging truck. Eastbound lanes are closed in North Bend for snow clearance.
