A 19-year-old girl from Murcia has denounced that a public hospital doctor Reina Sofía pointed out in her gynecological report that was homosexual as a disease. The events occurred on October 4, when the young man, called Alba, went to consultation for a pro-furnance, a menstruation disorder. In consultation, the gynecologist asked him if she could point her sexual orientation in the report, but her surprise came when the young woman realized that she had done it in the section of current diseases.
"When I was doing the gynecological review, he told me that he had the conduit of the vagina a little narrow and I thought it was relevant to say that I am homosexual and that he had had sex with no boy, in case it was important," says the young woman to THE WORLD. After her, when she wrote the report, she says that the doctor asked her if she could put her sexual condition on her and she, believing that it was a relevant information for diagnosis, accepted. "I told him I did not care but then I saw that he had put homosexual in the section of illness, something that was not normal," she adds.
After what happened, the young woman, called Alba, says she has received a call from the hospital director this Thursday to tell him, on behalf of the doctor, that "it has been an error" in the registry. "She says that as the report makes it filling out several boxes, the doctor has put the data that I am a homosexual in the sickness box but did not want to put it there but in another," she reveals.
In any case, he considers that this issue is especially delicate for both her and "for anyone who does not finish accepting for his sexual orientation" and can do "a lot of damage".
The young woman assures that, right after leaving consultation she went home and told her mother what happened. It was she who decided to contact Galactyco, a collective association of Gais, lesbians, bisexual and trans from Cartagena and Comarca. "What we want is that this does not happen more times and that they take with this Lord [in reference to the doctor who attended it] the measures that proceed so that it does not happen again," adds the mother.
From Galactyco, sea cake, its vice president, emphasizes that the ailment of which was diagnosed "nothing has to do with its sexual orientation."
