Meta has eliminated from Facebook and Instagram a network for massive harassment and harassment, identified in Italy and France, another by massive fake complaints in Vietnam and four for non-authentic coordinated behavior directed against users of different countries.
The networks on which the company has updated pose a challenge when it comes to combating them since their actions have not been able to fit into the company's policies or only violate one at a time, as explained in the threat report that, for the first Time, it brings together different interruptions, such as non-authentic behavior coordinated and two new protocols: massive false harassment and denunciation.
Meta has eliminated a network of accounts that acted in a coordinated manner to harass and harass doctors, journalists and politicians. Identified in Italy and France, the network combined authentic accounts, with duplicate and false accounts, from which it was published in mass in published comments to intimidate and repress the victims' views.
This network operated on Facebook, but also on other platforms such as YouTube, Twitter and Vkontakte, and coordinated through Telegram, as explained by goal in the report. It has been linked to an antivacuna movement known as V_V.
The company has also eliminated a network dedicated to mass complaint, a behavior by which the members of the network denounce an account or its content fraudulently for the platform to withdraw it.
In this case, accounts linked to the network have been located in Vietnam, and directed their false complaints against activists, who accused of identity or falsehood supplementation. The network carried out hundreds and even thousands of complaints abusing the complaint system.
On the other hand, the Company has eliminated four networks identified in Palestine, Poland, Belarus and China for non-authentic behavior coordinated through Facebook and Instagram, from where they attacked users from multiple countries at a time.
