Spain adds 242,440 contagions and 97 deaths by Coronavirus from Wednesday while the incidence reaches 2,722 cases

The Autonomous Communities have notified this Friday of the Ministry of Health 242,440 new cases of Covid-19, 35,311 of them diagnosed in the last 24 hours.

The total number of contagion in Spain is already raised to 7,164,906 since the beginning of the pandemic, according to official statistics. The incidence accumulated in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants is 2722.27 points, compared to 2574.46 points on Wednesday. In the past two weeks a total of 230,157 positive has been recorded.

In the report of this Friday, 97 new deaths have been added, compared to 148 on Wednesday. Up to 89,934 people with positive diagnostic test have died since the virus arrived in Spain, according to the data collected by the ministry.

Currently, there are 14,426 patients admitted by Covid-19 throughout Spain (13,359 Wednesday) and 2,056 in ICU (2,005 Wednesday). In the last 24 hours there have been 2.010 income (2,212 Wednesday) and 1,078 high (1,906 Wednesday). The bedding rate occupied by Coronavirus is 11.79 percent (10.91% Wednesday) and in the ICU at 22.06 percent (21.58% Wednesday).

Autonomous communities have carried out 2,449,543 diagnostic tests, of which 1,197,521 have been PCR and 1,252,022 antigen test, with a global rate per 100,000 inhabitants of 5,208.89.

Meanwhile, the rate of positivity is at 33.16%, compared to 30.98% on Wednesday. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that this data be below 5% to consider as 'controlled' the propagation of the virus.
