"A little relaxation in intensive care units" - The current corona numbers explained for you

861 corona cases were reported to the RKI yesterday and seven corona deaths.

They all come from Hamburg. The other 15 federal states continued their weekend reporting strike that began on Saturday.

The 7-day incidence falls from 552 to 539.

In a comparison with the previous week, there is a clear minus in all federal states.

The current downward momentum in the number of cases is considerable.

Last week she also reached the vulnerable age group of 60.

However, the trend will continue to be driven by younger people. In the U15 age group, the number of cases last week was 30 percent below the previous week's level.

The data from the Divi register from the past few days indicate that the situation in intensive care units in Germany is easing somewhat – or at least is no longer getting worse.

The number of Covid 19 cases treated in intensive care fell five days in a row – from 1621 to 1445.

This is probably also due to the fact that the number of new admissions was recently below the level of the previous week.

The downward trend in the number of free intensive care beds seems to have stopped for the time being.

And the number of intensive care units that attest to a “restricted” operating situation in the relevant Divi query is still at a high level.

But at least it's not rising any further at the moment.
