Action stars in Halloween fever: Schwarzenegger and Stallone brandish their knives

The rivalry between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone has long since turned into a friendship. The two Hollywood stars also celebrate this shortly before Halloween. For the horror festival, the two actors decorate pumpkins together.

The two action heroes Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone pose together with large knives in their hands - carving pumpkins. Schwarzenegger posted the photo to Instagram with a "Happy Halloween" greeting. With his "great friend Arnold" he would carve pumpkins in his office, Stallone wrote on Instagram. "That's what real action guys do in their free time," the "Rambo" actor joked. On Halloween at the end of October, pumpkins with cut-out grimaces are traditionally set up.

Stallone and Schwarzenegger have appeared in front of the camera together several times, including in the action flicks The Expendables 2 and Escape Plan. The two Hollywood stars have long since buried previous rivalries. In a 2013 interview, Stallone said: "We really didn't like each other for 20 years. But it shows that a good opponent is hard to find. At some point you start to appreciate him. Maybe the reason we competed was that he gave us gotten to where we are now."

Two years later, Schwarzenegger sent a consoling video message to Stallone after he missed out on Oscar night. "For me you are the best, I'm proud of you," Schwarzenegger wrote on Instagram at the time. Stallone was nominated for the trophy for his supporting role in Creed: Rocky's Legacy.
