After the death of brother Aaron: Nick Carter struggles to keep his composure on stage

They have had little contact with each other in recent years. Nevertheless, Nick Carter is clearly saddened by the death of his younger brother Aaron. At a concert in London, the 42-year-old fights back tears.

Just one day after US star Aaron Carter died at the age of 34, his brother gave a concert at the O2 Arena in London together with his Backstreet Boys colleagues. At Sunday night's performance, Nick Carter's grief for his little brother was clearly evident, as shown by fan photos shared on social networks. According to US media, a special moment happened after the band performed the hit "No Place".

Speaking after the song, Kevin Richardson said: "That was the last single from the 'DNA' album and this song is very important to us because it's about family. Tonight it's heavy hearted because we had one yesterday of our family members."

During Richardson's speech, Nick Carter stood in the background and is said to have repeatedly wiped tears from his face. Finally, the 42-year-old was comforted by his bandmates AJ McLean and Brian Littrell with a heartfelt hug. The five men then dedicated their next song to Aaron Carter and a picture of the deceased was displayed. The audience gave heartfelt applause as a tribute.

Shortly before the concert in London, Nick Carter commented on his brother's death via Instagram and wrote, among other things: "Although my brother and I had a complicated relationship, my love for him never faded." The singer always hoped that one day his younger brother would "be on a healthy path and finally find the help he so desperately needed". Sometimes you want to blame someone or something for a loss, "but the truth is that addiction and mental illness are the real villains here."

Aaron Carter was only 34 years old. He was found dead at his home in Lancaster, California on November 5. The cause of death has not yet been clarified. Nick Carter's younger brother has struggled with drug addiction and mental health issues in recent years.
