There have been a number of rumors surrounding Johnny Depp's love life in recent months. For example, following the US trial of his ex-wife Amber Heard, it was speculated that the actor was dating attorney Joelle Rich, who was on his legal team in a 2020 UK defamation case. Now the star is said to be single again.
In September, an anonymous source told People magazine that Depp was dating the British lawyer, but that it was "nothing serious". The gossip portal TMZ also reported at the time that the two were dating, but Depp allegedly did not want a permanent relationship at the moment. Now "People" wants to know that the two are going their separate ways.
Depp sued a tabloid in England, but the lawsuit was dismissed at the time. The Hollywood star then led a defamation lawsuit against Heard in Virginia.
This isn't the first time the star has been rumored to be in a relationship with one of his lawyers. As part of the second trial, there had also been speculation about Depp's possible relationship with Camille Vasquez, who was on the actor's US team.
While Depp was conducting the trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard in Virginia, the lawyer was by his side purely privately, not professionally – as initially suspected. The lawyer is said to have even left her family in the UK for two months to be closer to Depp. The 38-year-old has two children and a husband, from whom she separated a long time ago.
Vasquez had denied the rumors of an alleged love affair with Depp. "It's also an unethical accusation. It's sexist," she told People. It was "regrettable and disappointing", but at the same time it was foreseeable, the lawyer continued: "I can't say that I was very surprised." She has a boyfriend and is "very happy".
