The Pole vaulting prodigy of the Swedes, aged 22, had already beaten his indoor world record twice this winter to make it 6.20 m. European champion and Olympic champion in title, this summer he will be competing at the Worlds Eugene (Oregon) for the outdoor title.

Femke Bol, a bronze Olympic medalist and European record holder for the 400m hurdles, won in 53 sec 94/100e. This was her comeback.

After Eilish McColgan, Britain's world record holder (30:19.02), she started alone. Letesenbet Gidey, Ethiopian world records holder (30:44.27), won the Ethiopian selection race to the World Championships at 10,000m.

Selemon Barega, the Olympic champion, won Saturday's men's race in 26:44.73 and validated his ticket to Eugene.
