Baden-Wuerttemberg: gas deflagrates at the fireplace: fire and injuries

Ettenheim (dpa / lsw) - After the deflagration of a gas fireplace on a terrace, a building in Ettenheim (Ortenaukreis) caught fire. Four people were slightly injured, and there was damage of around 200,000 euros, according to the police. When the heater was put into operation on Wednesday night, gas had probably escaped and exploded. The resident and a visitor fled to an adjoining room when they saw flames on the device before the deflagration. The fire spread to the building, and the man, his wife and two children were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The Firefighters put out the fire.
