Baden-Württemberg: 148 arrests after a Europe-wide police action

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - 148 arrests are the result of a Europe-wide police action to combat cross-border crime. In Germany, 29 people were arrested for a wide variety of crimes, according to the Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office, which led the operation in the Federal Republic. The focus was on crimes such as burglary, shoplifting and ATM blow-ups. In the southwest, the handcuffs clicked three times.

Across Europe, 18 countries took part in the operation. From November 22 to 24, 28,000 vehicles and 50,000 people were checked. According to the LKA, the forces were again able to confiscate weapons and drugs this year and initiate criminal proceedings, for example for violations of the Residence Act.
