The 21-year-old man and the woman of the same age are said to have stolen the car on the night of September 16 in Oberhausen-Rheinhausen (Karlsruhe district), the police said on Thursday. Then the two would have plugged the car on a green strip. The car burned out completely. The suspects filmed the crime and posted the video online.
In retrospect, a witness recognized the alleged perpetrators in the social media post and informed the authorities. "It is not uncommon for people to make a name for themselves by committing crimes on the Internet," said a police spokesman. The two suspects were caught after the witnesses pointed out last Monday and are now in custody.
