In order to promote the expansion of renewable energy, the Baden-Württemberg State Institute for the Environment (LUBW) is paying more attention to other areas in addition to roofs. The authority sees possible potential in former landfill sites or in floating photovoltaic systems in quarry ponds. Agricultural areas and parking spaces should also be targeted more intensively, said LUBW President Ulrich Maurer on Friday at the presentation of the annual brochure "Focuses 2022".
In the future, wherever possible, it should also be available in the energy atlas published by the LUBW and the Ministry of the Environment. In the atlas, users can already see whether the roof of their own house has solar potential. A profitability calculator also provides information as to whether the installation is actually worthwhile. In addition to the potential and the cost-effectiveness, you can also determine how high the CO2 savings are.
