Stuttgart (dpa/lsw) - Carnival items worth 16.3 million euros were imported into Baden-Württemberg last year. That is a good quarter more than in the previous year 2021, the State Statistical Office announced on Monday. However, the pre-corona level of 2019 has still not been reached. Almost 10 percent was missing.
According to the announcement, most of the carnival items came from the People's Republic of China - around three quarters of the volume. Far behind in second place was Thailand with a share of 6.4 percent.
In exports, the volume fell by half in 2022 compared to the previous year. Articles worth 1.7 million euros were sold. Austria took the most from the Baden-Württemberg manufacturers with around 40 percent.
