Freiburg (dpa / lsw) - After the takeover of Twitter by entrepreneur Elon Musk, the Chaos Computer Club Freiburg said it left the US short message service. The club can no longer be reached via this service, the association reported on Monday in Freiburg.
"The CCCFr (Chaos Computer Club Freiburg) has left more than 8,000 short messages for Freiburg and the world since February 2009," it said in a statement. "We had a very good exchange with journalists, the state government and many women who helped shape our society." Exchange and debates were therefore shifted to the decentralized and advertising-free network Mastodon. The association promotes education with regard to new technical developments and advocates information rights.
