Baden-Württemberg: Corona rules for infected clinic staff relaxed

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Employees in clinics in the state with a corona infection may be able to return to work earlier in the future. So far, medical personnel have been banned from working for 15 days after a positive test result. In the future, facilities will be allowed to allow infected employees to return to work after just six days, as the Ministry of Health in Stuttgart announced on Friday.

The prerequisite is that the employees no longer show any typical symptoms from the sixth day after the positive virus detection. They must also wear a mask and monitor themselves for possible symptoms. According to a spokesman, free testing is not necessary.

A facility can only make use of the regulation if the supply would otherwise no longer be guaranteed due to a lack of staff. The new regulation will come into effect on Monday. The clinics in the country would have expressly wanted such an approach, the ministry said.
