Baden-Württemberg: fraud with rapid tests: gang stole millions of euros

Mannheim (dpa/lsw) - A five-strong gang is said to have claimed fake services in Corona rapid test centers last year and stolen more than three million euros. One of the men has had to answer to the Mannheim Regional Court since Monday because, according to the indictment, he had billed an accomplice at the Baden-Württemberg Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KVBW) from August to October 2021 for around 345,000 euros for services not rendered. He had therefore neither completed the required instruction nor registered a trade. In a similar way, three other separately accused in a changing composition are said to have stolen around three million euros.
