Baden-Württemberg: General practitioners' practices remain closed due to medical protests

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Hundreds of general practitioners' practices in Baden-Württemberg remained closed on Wednesday because of a protest by doctors for better working conditions. As a spokesman for the Baden-Württemberg Association of General Practitioners said in Stuttgart, around 400 doctors and practice teams took part in the protest. Some practices remained open, but reduced the number of patient appointments.

The association had called for the protest. He complains that the number of doctors in private practice is declining, while the workload for the remaining medical profession is increasing. Among other things, family doctors are demanding more money and less bureaucracy in the course of digitization.

The General Practitioners Association of Baden-Württemberg is one of 18 state associations. It represents the interests of more than 4,000 resident physicians in dealings with the Medical Association, the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, the health insurance companies and the state ministries.
