Baden-Württemberg: high-rise evacuated after balcony fire: no injuries

Sindelfingen (dpa / lsw) - 120 residents had to leave a high-rise building in Sindelfingen temporarily because of a balcony fire on the twelfth floor. The fire brigade, which arrived with strong forces, quickly extinguished the fire on New Year's morning, so that people could return to their homes from a collection point. According to initial reports, no one was injured, police said. The cause of the fire could have been a New Year's Eve rocket that set fire to the furniture on the balcony. The property damage amounts to around 80,000 euros. Due to the smoke gases, the apartment is currently uninhabitable.
