Baden-Württemberg: Inflation rate in the southwest rises to 9.5 percent

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The inflation rate in Baden-Württemberg rose significantly in September. Consumer prices were 9.5 percent higher than in the same month last year, as the State Statistical Office announced on Thursday in Stuttgart. In August, the inflation rate was still 7.3 percent. The statisticians justified the increase, among other things, with the expiry of price-dampening measures such as the 9-euro ticket and the fuel discount. Higher inflation rates reduce the purchasing power of consumers, they get fewer goods and services for one euro.
