Ludwigsburg (dpa/lsw) - The basketball players of the MHP giants Ludwigsburg have taken a first step towards the round of 16 in the Champions League. The Bundesliga club won against the French club Limoges CSP on Tuesday evening with 85:81 (42:32).

After two defeats in the group phase, Ludwigsburg qualified second for the so-called play-in round. The team that wins two games advances to the top 16 round. The second duel in which the giants can make progress is scheduled for January 11th.

After a balanced first quarter (14:14), the hosts gained a lead. However, they could not claim this. In the meantime, Limoges took the lead with 70:64 (35th).
