Achern (dpa / lsw) - After the theft of a car in Achern (Ortenaukreis), the alleged perpetrator on Autobahn 5 had a kilometer-long chase with the police. The stolen vehicle was noticed by a highway patrol on Sunday. According to the police, a chase developed, in which the eight patrol crews were involved. It stretched around 35 kilometers from Bühl to the Karlsruhe interchange.
The man was arrested shortly before the Autobahn triangle. Several patrol cars had wedged the getaway vehicle, according to a police spokesman. The fugitive was drunk with more than 1.5 per mille. Nobody was injured during the operation. The police operation temporarily caused traffic delays on the federal motorway.
