Salem (dpa / lsw) - The funeral services for the deceased Max Margrave of Baden are to be held on January 12th and 13th in Salem Minster. This was announced by the house of Baden early Tuesday morning. The first funeral service is open and intended in particular for companions, friends and acquaintances as well as current and former employees and retirees. The second funeral service is intended for the family circle, friendly houses and representatives from politics, business and culture.
Max Margrave of Baden died on December 29 at the age of 89 in Salem Castle on Lake Constance. From 1963 he had been head of the formerly ruling Grand Ducal House of Baden, which from 1112 to 1918 had provided the sovereigns in the Baden part of today's federal state of Baden-Württemberg. His successor is Bernhard Margrave of Baden, the previous hereditary prince.
