Baden-Württemberg: Projects for victims of violence and prostitutes looking for a job

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - In order to help people who have experienced violence when looking for a job and prostitutes to get out of the red light district, eleven projects in the south-west are being funded with three million euros. "We want to support women in escaping the spiral of violence and give them professional prospects," said Social and Integration Minister Manne Lucha (Greens) on Sunday in Stuttgart. "The integration into work helps them to be able to lead a self-determined and non-violent life."

According to the information, 2.1 million euros of the funding amount comes from the European Social Fund Plus, around 750,000 euros from state funds. The money will be used to fund projects at the Diakonisches Werk Mannheim, the Böblingen health department and the Caritas association for the Emmendingen district for three years from January 2023. Victims of sexualized or domestic violence and people who want to get out of prostitution should be given low-threshold offers of help and be psychosocially stabilized.
