Baden-Württemberg: Sandhausen loses in Oral's coaching debut in Nuremberg

Nuremberg (dpa / lsw) - The change of coach at SV Sandhausen has not yet brought the hoped-for success. In the first game under the new coach Tomas Oral, the bottom of the table in the 2nd Bundesliga lost 0-1 (0-0) to 1. FC Nürnberg on Saturday. In the 86th minute, Kwadwo Duah made sure the Franconians won with a penalty kick, with sporting director Dieter Hecking making his coaching comeback in front of 26,260 spectators.

Up until the late goal, the "club" showed the well-known weaknesses in the game structure and in creating goal chances. Nevertheless, SVS coach Oral, who was hired last Monday to succeed the dismissed Alois Schwartz, was constantly walking along the sidelines. What he saw was an unsightly match between two of the league's weakest offenses.

Oral's six changes in the starting line-up proved to be smart moves, but they didn't pay off in the end because his team played far too harmless in attack. That took revenge late when Aleksandr Zhirov brought down Nuremberg striker Duah in the penalty area and the fouled man then kept his nerve from the point.
