Freiburg (dpa / lsw) - The Freiburg Sport Club and the city of Freiburg are still in a rental relationship because of the Dreisam Stadium. The municipal council agreed to an extension, as the administration announced after the meeting on Tuesday evening. However, contrary to what was planned, the contract was only extended by another year until June 30, 2024. The rent is set at 175,000 euros. The SC Bundesliga team now plays their games in the modern arena on Achim-Stocker-Strasse. The women's team, the third division men and the youth continue to play in the old stadium.
The city and association are also working on a solution for optimized use of space. During the meeting, the municipal councilors emphasized the need for a solution for places and rooms for the adjacent mass sports clubs.
