Baden-Württemberg: the transformer on the power plant site catches fire

Altbach (dpa / lsw) - A transformer caught fire on the premises of a combined heat and power plant in Altbach (Esslingen district). The cause is probably a technical defect, as the police announced on Sunday. Since the transformer was not connected to the grid at the time of the fire on Saturday evening, the incident had no impact on power plant operation. Around 70 firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire. Nobody got hurt. The extent of the damage is still unclear.
