Pforzheim (dpa / lsw) - Just under a year and a half after founding his own party, the former Porsche works council chief and ex-SPD member Uwe Hück (60) wants to withdraw from politics. "I will no longer aspire to political offices," said the former head of the Porsche general works council to the "Badische Latest News" (Wednesday edition). "I've tried politics, but I don't fit in." Instead, he wants to devote himself to new tasks in the economy.
Hück ran last year as the top candidate for his party, the Citizens' Movement for Progress and Change, which he had founded a few months previously. According to the Federal Returning Officer, the party won around 0.0 percent of the second votes.
Hück had previously been involved with the SPD for many years, but left the party in 2020 after an internal dispute. The former orphan and orphan had worked his way up from a painter at Porsche to a powerful opponent of the car bosses. Among other things, he is socially involved with a learning foundation for disadvantaged young people. He wants to continue this commitment, said Hück. "I remain a speaker."
