Bavaria: 13 years youth sentence for murdering a man

Schweinfurt (dpa / lby) - A 19-year-old has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for the murder of an acquaintance in Bad Neustadt, Lower Franconia. In addition, the district court of Schweinfurt reserved the preventive detention of the young man on Thursday, as a court spokesman said.

A 21-year-old accomplice was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for murder. He says he didn't know anything about his friend's intention to kill him.

In addition, the chamber sentenced a third defendant - also 21 years old - to a youth sentence of three and a half years for being an accessory to murder. It was initially not clear whether the judgments were final for the Germans. (Ref.: 11 Js 13439/21)

At the start of the trial, the 19-year-old confessed to having stabbed the 26-year-old to death. The prosecution suspected a dispute about alleged debts of 100 euros as a motive, the suspect himself said nothing about it.

In their plea for the 19-year-old, the public prosecutor's office had demanded, among other things, 15 years of youth imprisonment for murder. His defense had pleaded manslaughter and eight years in prison.

For the second main defendant, the prosecution had asked for life in prison for murder. The lawyers of the 21-year-old wanted to achieve an acquittal, otherwise at most a conviction for failure to provide assistance to imprisonment.

According to the public prosecutor, the 21-year-old accused of being an accessory to murder should receive a youth sentence of eight years. His defense attorneys pleaded, among other things, for acquittal.
