Munich (dpa / lby) - The weekend brings a lot of snow for Bavaria. Especially in the Alps and in the southern foothills of the Alps there can be up to 30 centimeters of fresh snow, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Thursday. A cold front is expected to reach the state from the northwest on Friday and ensure a few cold days. Severe frost and up to minus ten degrees can be expected in the Alps.
A few snow showers are also possible in the rest of Bavaria, especially on Saturday. A possible ten centimeters of fresh snow await the Bavarian Forest. According to the DWD, the strong change in weather should last until the night from Sunday to Monday. The last snow showers will probably be on Sunday afternoon.
Bavaria has been spared the dust of the Sahara. The veil of dust was at high altitude and therefore not noticeable on the ground, the DWD announced.
