Rohrdorf (dpa / lby) - A 250-kilogram aircraft bomb was defused on Friday in Rohrdorf, Upper Bavaria. This would allow residents to return to their houses and apartments, the Rosenheim district office announced in the afternoon. The authorities had previously evacuated an area of around 300 meters around the site as a precaution. Around 500 people had to leave the danger area.
The bomb was found during construction work in the morning. First, a radius of half a kilometer should be evacuated; then 1000 people would have been affected. However, the radius of the danger area was reduced after the explosive ordnance clearance service had assessed the situation.
