Bavaria: caravan is on Autobahn 7 in flames

Altenstadt (dpa / lby) - A caravan caught fire on Autobahn 7 in the Neu-Ulm district and burned out completely. A Dutch family was on their way on vacation with their vehicle on Saturday when the 44-year-old driver near Altenstadt was made aware of a problem with his trailer by other drivers, the police said. He pulled onto the shoulder and unhitched the smoking trailer before it burst into flames. According to the information, the damage amounts to around 6500 euros. Nobody got hurt. The cause of the fire is believed to be a technical defect.
