Neufahrn/Niederbayern (dpa/lby) - After a dead man was found in Lower Bavaria, his wife was placed in a psychiatric ward on suspicion of murder. A judge ordered this at the request of the public prosecutor, the police said on Friday. The 64-year-old is suspected of having killed her husband of the same age on Wednesday in the shared apartment in Neufahrn in Lower Bavaria (Landshut district). Investigators initially suspected a hammer as the murder weapon.
The suspect's son called 911 on Wednesday after his mother told him she had killed her husband. The crime and motive initially remained unclear.
