Munich (dpa / lby) - The vaccination centers in Bavaria are apparently being put to the test. Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) said on Friday in Munich that it would be checked promptly to what extent a state vaccination offer was still necessary. This topic will be discussed and decided in the Council of Ministers. The media group Bayern and the "Augsburger Allgemeine" had previously reported on it.
The reason given by the minister for this step was the foreseeable expiry of the coronavirus vaccination regulation on December 31. This is the legal basis for the operation of the vaccination centers and mobile vaccination teams and also regulates the financing of these offers.
It was not until the end of September that the Bavarian Association of General Practitioners and the Professional Association of Paediatricians in Bavaria called for the vaccination centers to no longer be funded by the state. In her opinion, the offer of the resident physicians, who also immunize against the corona virus, is sufficient. The vaccination centers are a parallel structure subsidized with tax money that must be dissolved. Unlike at the beginning of the pandemic, it is no longer plausible to maintain a double structure that is useless in terms of supply policy and is extremely expensive.
