Freystadt (dpa / lby) - According to the police, two children are said to have set fire to a barn in the Upper Palatinate. According to the Regensburg Kripo, they lit the building in Freystadt (Neumarkt district in the Upper Palatinate) and accidentally triggered a large fire, the police announced on Monday. The fire caused damage of around 750,000 euros, it said.
Between Saturday noon and Sunday night, a large contingent of the fire brigade was busy with the extinguishing work. According to the information, hay bales and agricultural equipment were stored in the barn. The barn roof, on which a photovoltaic system was located, collapsed during the fire.
