Bavaria: "Not with my grandmother": School project against fraud

Barbing (dpa / lby) - A new campaign by the police and schools in the Upper Palatinate shows how children can protect their grandparents from becoming victims of con artists. The motto is "Not with my grandma and "Not with my grandpa", as the police announced on Tuesday at the start of the project at a school in Barbing (Regensburg district).

When the police traffic educators go to schools in the future, they want to hand out postcards to the students that contain information about call center fraud, grandchildren's tricks or fake police officers. The children could then point this out to their grandparents and give them the cards.

Police chief Norbert Zink said to the children: "We want to stop this mean scam and we need your help for that! Starting today, we want to help our grandmothers and grandfathers together with you by telling them about these telephone scammers and warning them."
