Hallstadt (dpa / lby) - A trailer truck left the Autobahn 70 in Upper Franconia and fell down an embankment several meters deep. The accident caused total damage of around 230,000 euros, the police said on Tuesday. However, the driver was not injured.
The 54-year-old drove too far to the right on Monday on the A70 near Hallstadt (Bamberg district) for an initially unclear reason and rammed an empty car on the hard shoulder. The semi-trailer truck loaded with sinks then went off the road, broke through the guard rail, fell down the embankment and landed on its side.
The A70 in the direction of Würzburg was completely closed for about four and a half hours after the accident on Tuesday night.
