Bavaria: Quiet situation on the streets despite the black ice warning

Regensburg/Straubing (dpa/lby) - Despite a black ice warning from the German Weather Service (DWD) for Upper Bavaria and the Lower Palatinate, the situation on the roads has remained relaxed. The DWD initially feared skids on the motorways and roads. However, the police headquarters in Lower Palatinate and Upper Bavaria initially did not find a particularly high number of accidents, as police spokesmen said.

The weather service is also expecting the situation to relax: temperatures are expected to rise in the course of the morning and the ice should melt. Only on Thursday night could there be black ice again on some roads in southern and eastern Bavaria.
