Bavaria: State Parliament invites you to a mourning act for Barbara Stamm

Würzburg/Munich (dpa/lby) - The former president of the state parliament, Barbara Stamm, was honored with a funeral ceremony in Würzburg a good week after her death. President of the Landtag Ilse Aigner (CSU) invites you to the state act in the context of a pontifical requiem for next Friday (October 14 at 2 p.m.) in the Würzburg Cathedral. A funeral reception is then planned in the residence, as the state parliament announced on Friday. The funeral act in the cathedral is to be broadcast live.

Stamm, who was President of the State Parliament from 2008 to 2018, died on Wednesday at the age of 77 as a result of her cancer. Top politicians from all parties, from Bavaria and the federal government, praised Stamm as the "social conscience" of the CSU and "mother of Bavaria".
