Munich (dpa / lby) - The partial solar eclipse over Germany has also inspired many observers in large parts of Bavaria. Especially in Swabia and the west and north of Upper Bavaria, the view of the natural spectacle was largely unobstructed, said a spokesman for the German Weather Service (DWD) in Munich on Tuesday. "But you could also occasionally catch a glimpse of southern Franconia and parts of the Upper Palatinate," the DWD spokesman continued.
Because of dense clouds, the view of the natural spectacle in the north and east of Bavaria was not quite as good as in the south and south-west. The partial solar eclipse was caused by the moon moving in front of the sun and partially covering it.
