Bavaria: Warning strikes in the metal and electrical industry continue

Munich (dpa / lby) - The warning strikes in the Bavarian metal and electrical industry continue. Actions were planned in 19 companies on Wednesday, according to IG Metall. Regional focal points were Northern Swabia and Middle Franconia. Since Saturday, the union has been putting pressure on collective bargaining with actions. Their fourth round in Bavaria is scheduled for November 8th.

In Swabia, actions were planned for Wednesday at AGCO and Fendt-Caravan in Ansbach-Bäumenheim and at BSH and Röhm in Dillingen. In Middle Franconia, the actions should hit Siemens and Siemens Energy in Erlangen and Gutmann in Weißenburg.

In the Upper Palatinate, the action was directed against Läpple in Teublitz, in Upper Bavaria against MAN in Munich and BSH and Siteco in Traunreut. In Upper Franconia against Kennametal in Mistelgau and in Lower Bavaria against Boysen MVO in Salching and Rolls Royce i Ruhstorf.

"We are now gradually increasing the scope and intensity of our warning strikes," said Johann Horn, district manager of IG Metall Bavaria. "Employers should get an idea of how willing employees are to walk down their job for their demand for 8 percent more money."

In the negotiations that have been conducted regionally so far, the employers have each offered one-off payments of 3,000 euros and also an unspecified increase in the wage tables for a period of 30 months. The one-off payment should reach the employees directly, free of taxes and duties. The union, on the other hand, is demanding eight percent more money for the approximately 3.9 million employees nationwide for a period of twelve months. According to IG Metall, there are 855,000 in Bavaria.
