Bavaria: young person steals car: 600 kilometers on the way

Berlin / Passau (dpa / lby) - A 17-year-old had the worst possible idea to visit his old home in Lower Bavaria: he stole a car in Berlin and drove it around 600 kilometers to Passau, as the police reported on Monday . A patrol stopped the youth on Sunday evening. The car was reported stolen and the automatic license plate recognition on the Autobahn in Lower Bavaria triggered a warning. According to the police, the 17-year-old was born in Passau, then moved to Berlin and now wanted to visit his home country. He received several ads and was then handed over to his parents.
