Augsburg (dpa / lby) - U21 European champion Mergim Berisha is flirting with a longer time at Bundesliga soccer team FC Augsburg. "I can definitely say: I feel really good and can very well imagine staying longer. Those responsible have always signaled to me that they want to get me. That gives me a good feeling," said the 24-year-old in an interview with "Sport Bild" (Wednesday). Berisha is on loan to FCA from Fenerbahce Istanbul until the end of the season. Most recently, the striker shone as the winning goal scorer in the 1-0 win over FC Bayern.
The 13-time U21 international likes the fact that manager Stefan Reuter has linked him to a possible participation in the World Cup. "I was very happy about that and I think I have the qualities to play in the national team. We were European champions with the U21s in 2021 and I will do my best to continue this chapter," said Berisha.
