Denbighshire: A driver admits to fatal drink driving charges

After drinking, a man pleaded guilty to the death of a 19-year old woman by negligent driving.

Marcus Pasley (26 years old), hails from Llantysilio in Denbighshire. He was driving near Chainbridge Hotel in Berwyn, Llangollen on 5 July 2013.

Later, Abby Hill, a passenger from Acrefair in Wrexham, died in hospital.

Mold Crown Court found that Pasley had 93mg alcohol per 100ml blood. This is above the 80mg limit to drive. For sentencing, he was released on bail until 29 July

Ms Hill worked as a waitress at the hotel where the crash took place.

Her family paid tribute at her funeral and stated that she was "just beginning" to conquer the world as an independent, strong woman.

Ms Hill was first taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital. She was then transferred to Stoke Hospital where she later died.

Judge Rhys Rowlands stated to Pasley that there was an inevitability regarding the sentence following such devastating results. The only question was about the length.

He was also banned from driving for an interim period by the court.
